At Beverwijck Dobermans, we take our responsibilities very seriously. We strive to ensure the health, safety and well-being of both our adults and the puppies we produce.

Beverwijck Dobermans is a small hobby breeder located in Latham, NY, just north of Albany. We have been breeding for over 10 years, and strive to promote structure, temperament, and longevity in all of our dogs.

Health Testing Equals

Quality Breeding

We breed only European Dobermans from thoroughly health tested parents. All our breeding parents are DNA tested for every health problem Dobermans face.


We also ex-ray for hip/elbow problems, and do multiple cardio tests, including holter monitor testing and EKGs to screen out any future problems.Nothing is more important than the health of our dogs and puppies.

  • Can you tell me a little more about Dobermans?

    According to Wikipedia the Doberman is a medium-large breed of domestic dog that was first developed around 1890 by Louis Dobermann, a tax collector from Germany. The Dobermann is known for its muzzle. It stands on its pads and is not typically heavy-footed, and they often have an even and graceful gait. Traditionally, the ears are cropped and posted and the tail is docked. Dobermans have distinctive markings on the chest, paws/legs, above the eyes, muzzle and underneath the tail.


    Dobermanns are known to be quite intelligent, alert, and very loyal companions and guard dogs. Their personality varies, but, if taken care of and properly trained, they are generally considered to be very loving and extremely loyal companions. The Dobermann is driven, strong, and can sometimes be a bit stubborn. With a consistent and patient approach, Dobermans can be easy to train and can be quick to learn.
